When looking at the original Xtreme logo, there were many elements of the design that just needed to be updated with a more modern esthetic. My approach began with simplifying the "x" and the flying soccer ball. Selecting a simple and strong typeface and adjusting the design of the soccer ball give the logo a much cleaner presentation, making it much easier to read.
